From 2025 March 24th to 28th, University of Zilina hosted the event ‘ERASMUS BIP – Interoperability of Transport Management in Rail Laboratory Conditions’, organised by assoc. prof. Ing. Vladislav Zitrický, PhD., Head of the Traffic Operations Section at Department of Railway Transport, Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications.

The main objective of abovementioned BIP was to bring together the various European institutions that train railway professionals. With the creation of a common European railway area, it is necessary for future railway professionals to have a comprehensive knowledge of the various interlocking systems that ensure the operation of railway transport and, consequently, to better understand the need for railway interoperability. It is assumed that mobility can connect different ways of organising rail transport on the network of different infrastructure managers and then connect them in the transport laboratory in terms of interoperability.

The BIP had the participation of more than 25 students and teachers from University of Pardubice, ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon and University of Sarajevo.
