Joint application under the European Universities Initiative
Erasmus+ Proposal Submission
Building on shared priorities and strong partnerships, the alliance prepared and submitted a joint proposal to the Erasmus+ programme under the European Universities Initiative. The proposal outlined governance structures, thematic focus areas, and an integrated approach to education, research, and innovation.
Official recognition by the European Commission
Selected as a European University Alliance
PIONEER was selected by the European Commission as one of the funded European University Alliances. This milestone confirmed the quality, relevance, and strategic ambition of the consortium and marked PIONEER’s formal inclusion in the European Universities Initiative.
Transition from strategy to implementation
Grant Agreement Signed
Following the successful selection, the consortium signed the Erasmus+ Grant Agreement. This period focused on final project preparations, including the establishment of management structures, work packages, and coordination mechanisms across all partner universities.
Start of the PIONEER implementation phase
Official Project Kick-off
The project officially launched with a kick-off meeting hosted by Université Gustave Eiffel in Paris. Representatives of all partner institutions aligned on objectives, responsibilities, and initial activities, formally initiating the operational phase of the alliance.
