SUMMARY:Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)_ Cities Futures – Interdisciplinary Challenges_on-site course
DESCRIPTION:Under the scope of the project InCITIES\, ISCTE is organizing a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)/school pilot entitled Cities Futures – Interdisciplinary Challenges\, that will run from the end of October 2024 to January 2025. \nPlease find below the details of this BIP/school pilot: \nWhat: \n\n Cities Futures – Interdisciplinary Challenges\, within the wider topic of Inclusive\, Sustainable and Resilient Cities.\n Based on the principles of the Learning by Developing (LbD) pedagogical model\, the BIP/school pilot includes modules\, but not only\, on:\n Futurism – cities foresight\n Information\, Data Visualization and Accessibility for User Decision Making\n Design thinking for envisioning cities futures focused on the LbD challenges\n Transport innovation – Sustainable Urban Development\n Human centred Artificial Intelligence\n Sensing mobility data\n Intermediate presentations of the challenges proposed by the associated partners\n Hackathon Future Cities From Vivid Reality: Inclusive and Sustainable and Challenges in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area\n\nWhere: \n\nHybrid format with the duration of 12 weeks: 9 online modules (2h each)\, followed by 1 week on-site (20h) .\n\nWhen: \n\nThe ISCTE winter school pilot happens in the 1st semester of 2024-2025 academic year and is scheduled for end of October 2024 to January 2025.\nThe on-site course in Lisbon will be held on week of 20th to 24th of January 2025.\n\nTo Whom: \n\nAll educational levels – Target of at least 15 bachelor\, master and/or PhD students\, including some from partnering institutions (with Erasmus+ BIP travel and accommodation funding).\nThe maximum number of students is 30.\n6 ECTS\, i.e. the equivalent of 150 working hours\, including reading\, attending online and on-site course\, related visits\, and preparing contributions\n\nWho: \n\nISCTE: Coordinator\, host\, and content provider;\nLAUREA – LbD process support and content provider;\nUNIZA – content provider\n\n How:   \n\nISCTE school pilot focuses on Interdisciplinary Challenges related to Cities Futures towards developing consciousness and agency for building Cities Futures.\n\n\nConcrete and authentic real-life challenges proposed by the InCITIES Associated Partners: Comboios de Portugal\, Wegenblocks\, and Inovar Autismo\, through putting in practice the LbD pedagogical model.\n\n\nParticipants will present the results in the final in-presence session of the Hackathon Future Cities From Vivid Reality: Inclusive and Sustainable and Challenges in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.\n\nMore information: \nCities_Futures_mobility-event-flyer
